In honor of the World Mountaineering Day (August 8th) The Almaty Mountaineering Federation has prepared the Big Almaty Mountaineering Olympiad (BAA), consisting of three ascents, one of which was attended by Alexander Belousov, a 3rd-year student of the ЕP «Tourism» of Turan University. The event consisted of two days.
On the first day, on August 3, after climbing by cable car to the ski resort of Shymkent, the student headed to the Mynzhylki plateau, where there was already a tent camp of other participants of the mountaineering and volunteers of the federation. The next day at 6:00 a.m., the participants started moving to the first point of the route – Alpingrad. After completing all the ascents and walking 150 meters along the ridge, you could relax on the top of Hrischatyi (3950m). After taking photos and relaxing, at 10:15 the descent to the Amangeldy pass began, then the movement was without railings on a steep slope with small stones «loose». This ascent to the peak of V.Hrishchaty (3950m) along the Southern slope and the Western ridge was of category 2A difficulty.
We express our gratitude to the Almaty Mountaineering Federation and the Almaty Mountaineering School for organizing the event, the work done by volunteers and the creation of this mountaineering team, which promotes active recreation and popularizes mountaineering.
