On April 20, 2025, students of the “Tourism” educational program made a trip to the “Tamgaly Tas” gorge as part of their tourist-excursion and sports training. The event was led by instructors A.A. Ergeshov and A.V. Velychko and was organized in the context of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focused on quality education and the preservation of cultural and natural heritage.
The trip was organized not only to improve tourist-sports skills but also as part of the educational work aimed at fostering patriotism, a respectful attitude toward nature, and reverence for the historical and cultural heritage of their country.
During the trip, students conducted rock-climbing activities in the area and explored the unique tourist resources of the region, including the famous petroglyphs depicting Buddhas and Buddhist inscriptions, dating back to the medieval period. Participants also studied the flora and fauna of the natural complex of the gorge.
At the end of the trip, students visited the “Tulpar” retro salon museum, where they got acquainted with an exhibition dedicated to the cultural heritage of the Soviet era. Special interest was sparked by the exhibition of military equipment used by the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which was especially symbolic ahead of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The excursion became an important stage in the professional and personal development of future tourism industry specialists, helping to broaden their horizons, form environmental consciousness, and cultivate civic responsibility.
