International Conference Dedicated to the Constitution Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan

On August 27, 2024, the International Scientific and Practical Conference dedicated to the Constitution Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan took place in Almaty, within the walls of the Farabi Library. The conference was organized as part of the 90th-anniversary celebration of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and brought together specialists to discuss current legal issues and the country’s development prospects. The theme of the conference, “The Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan – the Legal Basis for the Safe, Stable, and Sustainable Development of Kazakhstan,” highlighted the importance of the country’s fundamental law in ensuring the nation’s stability and progress. The conference was attended by prominent scholars, lawyers, public figures, and representatives of the international community, adding a broad resonance and interdisciplinary character to the event. Among the speakers was Doctor of Law, Deputy Director of the Research Institute of Law at Turan University, and representative of the Higher School of Law at Turan University, Leila Telmanovna Zhanuzaqova.

Leila Telmanovna presented a report on “The Legal Foundations of Civil Society’s Participation in State Governance.” In her speech, she emphasized the importance of active citizen participation in state governance processes and legislative initiatives. According to her, only through an active and informed civil society can genuine democracy and fair governance be achieved. Her speech sparked lively interest among participants and led to further discussions on the role of citizens in forming a sustainable legal state.

The conference became an important platform for exchanging opinions and developing recommendations for strengthening the legal framework and democratic institutions in Kazakhstan. All participants noted the importance of such meetings for promoting constructive dialogue between the state and society.
