An international round table was held on “Central Asian identity in the context of deepening economic, political and cultural integration of Central Asian countries”

On September 25, 2024, an interesting event took place at Turan University – the International Round Table “Central Asian Identity in the Context of Deepening Economic, Political and Cultural Integration of Central Asian Countries”, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the birth and 25th anniversary of scientific and pedagogical activity at Turan University of Khadzhieva Gulzhakhan Usmanovna. The organizer of the scientific forum was the Higher School of Economics and Management. The round table became a dialogue platform for a comprehensive and broad discussion of the phenomenon of Central Asian identity in modern scientific discourse, the search for relevant solutions to political, economic and socio-cultural problems associated with integration processes in Central Asia.

The welcoming and congratulatory block was opened by Alshanov Rakhman Alshanovich – Rector of Turan University, President of the Association of Higher Educational Institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Academician. Noting the contribution of Gulzhakhan Usmanovna to the development of the education and science system of Kazakhstan, to the training of highly qualified specialists, Rakhman Alashanovich presented the anniversary celebrant with the Silver Medal named after A. Baitursynov. Congratulatory speeches were made by the First Vice-Rector of the University “Turan”, PhD in Economics, Professor Kuanysh Amerkulovich Tazabekov, General Director of the Institute of Economics of the
Committee of Science of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Economics, Assoc. Professor Ardak Nesipbekovna Turginbaeva, leading researcher of the Institute of Oriental Studies named after R.B. Suleimenov of the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, PhD in Economics, PhD (History) Bolat Kudaibergenovich Smagulov. The moderator also announced the Certificate of Honor of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Gulzhakhan Usmanovna and a congratulatory address from the staff of the National Research Nizhny Novgorod State University named after N.I. Lobachevsky. The current issues of the round table brought together scientists and experts representing academic and university science of Kazakhstan, the World Bank, the International Scientific Complex “Astana”, the Kazakhstan National Geographical Society.

The activity of the discussion, the emotionality of the speeches and the interested exchange of opinions showed that the issues of integration of the Central Asian countries are acquiring special significance today and need to be discussed.
