A practice-oriented training organized by Turan University was held at Zhubanov University, focusing on the development of a university startup acceleration and incubation ecosystem. The participants included young researchers and administrators interested in fostering entrepreneurial activity within the academic environment.
The training covered effective models of acceleration and incubation programs, approaches to project selection and support, as well as hands-on sessions on applying for government funding for innovative startups. Special attention was given to the existing support programs in Kazakhstan, mechanisms for grant and venture financing, and strategies for the sustainable development of university startups.
While the topic of commercialization of scientific developments was also touched upon, the main focus of the training was on practical tools for launching innovation projects within universities and attracting external resources.
This training marked an important step toward strengthening the connection between academic science, entrepreneurship, and government support for innovation. In the near future, pilot acceleration programs are planned to be launched at Zhubanov University, with mentoring support from Turan University experts.
