Collaboration Concert by Shisai: the beginning of a new team tradition

This spring, on March 26, a landmark event for dance and art enthusiasts took place at Turan University — the very first “Collaboration Concert”, a collaborative performance organized by the creative group Shisai. This concert became a unique platform for interaction among student dance teams from various universities across Almaty. From now on, the Collaboration Concert will become an annual tradition, uniting young talents each year.

Revolution: Why This Name?

This year, the Collaboration Concert was titled Revolution, and that was no coincidence. The core idea behind the concert was to break through familiar boundaries, promote collaboration between universities, blend styles, and create entirely new choreographic formats. It marked a kind of revolution in the dance community, where teams did not just perform one after another — they worked together to create unique joint performances.

Revolution is a symbol of change, courage, and forward motion. This concert proved that the lines between universities and dance groups are only imaginary, and true art is born from collaboration and the exchange of ideas.

On Stage at Collaboration Concert: Revolution.  The audience witnessed joint performances by Shisai and invited dance crews, showcasing a wide range of dance genres — from hip-hop to contemporary. Each performance was a reflection of friendship between universities and demonstrated that art knows no boundaries.

This year’s Collaboration Concert featured the following talented teams:

• Aidai (Abai University)
• Shadows (IITU)

These teams contributed to the creation of a stunning show, presenting the audience with original choreography and a high level of performance mastery.

Bright costumes, innovative choreography, and the incredible energy of the dancers created an atmosphere in which every viewer felt like part of a larger creative community.

What’s Next?

Following the success of this concert, the organizers are already planning for next year. In the future, the Collaboration Concert aims to involve even more dance crews and experiment with new performance formats. Every year, the concert will continue to delight audiences with unique productions while staying true to its core mission — uniting talented students through the art of dance.
