The Center for Regional Studies at the Graduate School of International Relations and Diplomacy of Turan University is actively involved in academic and practical activity in the field of Central Eurasian Studies. In recent years, the Center has organized international conferences on migration in Eurasia (2023), the Annual International Conference of the Central Eurasian Studies Society (CESS, 2024), and on history and culture of Central Asian Jews (2025). The Center for Regional Studies carries out national and international projects on current issues of International Relations, Regional Studies, Political Science, History, Oriental Studies, Anthropology, and Sociology. The Center’s staff has achieved significant publication success. At the latest regular meeting of the Academic Council of Turan University, leading staff members of the Center— Doctor of History Ablet K. Kamalov, and Candidate of science in Philosophy, Marhabat M. Nurov were recognized with awards for publishing articles in journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science database. Professor Ablet K. Kamalov, who directs the Center for Regional Studies, serves on the Editorial Boards of many leading scientific journals in Kazakhstan and abroad, including the authoritative journal “Central Asian Survey” (London, UK).
