On October 18, 2025, Turan University hosted an online scientific seminar for students and undergraduates, dedicated to modern approaches to information security and data protection.
The event was attended by faculty members of the Higher school of information technologies and students of the «Information systems» and «Intelligent robotics» programs.
Aisha Kuanyshevna Mamyrоva, cand.tech.sc., associate professor of the Higher school of information technologies, delivered a presentation titled «International and national standards for information security and data protection». Her presentation explored key international standards (ISO/IEC 27001, GOST, and the legal acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan), their structure, implementation principles, and importance for enterprises and educational institutions.
Nikita Dmitrievich Gelyush, lecturer of special disciplines at Turan University College, gave a talk on «Implementation of the Zero trust security model in enterprises».
He discussed the concept of Zero Trust – a modern security paradigm based on the principle «never trust, always verify». The audience learned about its architecture, benefits, and practical applications in corporate environments.
The main goal of the seminar was to expand students’ knowledge in the field of information security and develop their competencies in implementing international standards and modern data protection models.
The seminar was held in an interactive format: participants asked questions and discussed real-world applications of security standards and strategies.
