Mr. Maurizio Aronica’s Visit to Turan University and the Opening of the Culinary Academy in Almaty
On December 3, 2025, Turan University welcomed Mr. Maurizio Aronica, President of the FFUN SDG Foundation, an international organization promoting the UN 2030 Agenda and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The visit was held in connection with the planned grand opening of the Culinary Academy in Almaty, which will serve as a new educational platform in the fields of gastronomy and sustainable development.
During the meeting, Mr. Maurizio Aronica emphasized the importance of advancing educational and social initiatives based on sustainability principles and highlighted Kazakhstan’s significant contribution as an active participant in global development projects.
The parties discussed long-term partnership strategies and key areas of cooperation, including:
- development of educational and research programs such as the Double Degree Program, designed to enhance international academic mobility;
- promotion of sustainable tourism;
- implementation of social-impact initiatives and integration of the Sustainable Development Goals into educational processes.
The new Culinary Academy in Almaty will become an innovative platform for modern educational programs aimed at developing competencies in sustainable nutrition, gastronomic culture, and culinary technologies.
Turan University will continue expanding cooperation with international organizations, implementing projects that support Kazakhstan’s integration into the global educational space and promote the principles of sustainable development.
