A methodological seminar entitled “Methodological Approaches and Innovative Practices in Higher Education: Integrating Artificial Intelligence into the Educational Process” was held at the Higher School of Economics and Management. The seminar focused on discussing the opportunities and challenges associated with the use of artificial intelligence tools in educational and research activities.
During the seminar, participants examined current trends in the application of artificial intelligence in higher education, its potential to support learning and automate certain educational processes, as well as the risks related to the substitution of genuine learning activities and the assurance of objective assessment. Particular attention was paid to issues of academic integrity and the limitations of existing tools for detecting the use of generative artificial intelligence.
The seminar featured discipline-specific methodological case studies demonstrating various approaches to integrating artificial intelligence into the teaching of economics and management disciplines. These case studies addressed forms of continuous and final assessment, as well as practices for differentiating between acceptable and unacceptable uses of artificial intelligence by students when completing academic tasks.
Following the seminar, a collection of methodological case-study articles will be prepared, along with recommendations for regulating the use of artificial intelligence tools in the educational process.
