“Foundations of CBT”: Educational Seminar at Turan University

Turan University will host a two-day educational seminar dedicated to the foundations of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). The event is designed to expand theoretical knowledge and enhance practical skills in contemporary psychotherapy, including the diagnosis of depressive disorders using Beck’s scales, key emphases in depression therapy, working with patients’ core beliefs, and treatment planning with clearly defined therapeutic goals.

  • Sergey Sklyar – PhD in Medicine, psychiatrist of the highest category, Director of the Sergey Sklyar Psychotherapy Center, Senior Lecturer at the Department of General and Ethnic Psychology, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Vice President of the EACPP, member of the Balint Movement Committee of the All-Russian Professional Psychotherapeutic League, moderator of suicide prevention programs for children and adolescents in collaboration with UNFPA in Kazakhstan.
  • Valentina Zhumadilova – psychologist, co-founder of the Sergey Sklyar Psychotherapy Center, CBT therapist, co-founder of the EACPP.
