An International Roundtable on Fraud in Social Networks and Messengers Was Held at Turan University

On January 28, 2026, the Higher School of Law of Turan University hosted an international roundtable discussion titled “Fraud in Social Networks and Messengers.”

 

The event was organized by the Higher School of Law of Turan University in cooperation with the Center for Public Development of the Internal Policy Department of Almaty. The event brought together representatives of the academic community from Kazakhstan and abroad, law enforcement officials, representatives of the prosecutor’s office and the bar, as well as experts in criminal law, criminology, and digital security.

 

During the roundtable, participants discussed issues related to combating cyber fraud, legal and practical aspects of investigating crimes in the digital environment, challenges in the classification of online fraud, phishing, and social engineering, as well as prospects for the use of modern technologies in the field of anti-fraud.

 

Following the discussion, the participants emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary and interagency cooperation in combating fraud in social networks and messengers and highlighted the need for further academic and practical collaboration.
