Round table “Sports journalism in Kazakhstan: state and prospects”

On November 23, 2021, a round table on the topic “Sports journalism in Kazakhstan: state and prospects” was held in the conference hall of the Turan University.

Famous journalists took part in the round table: Alim Anapyanov  – sports columnist for the Vecherniy Almaty newspaper; Anvar Mamraimov  – publicist, Sergei Railean  – commentator on the TV channels “Qazsport”, “Setanta Kazakhstan”; Geniy Tulegenov  – the chief editor of the web portal Sport-info.kz, as well as teachers and students of the university.

The organizers of the event – the dean of the Humanitarian – Law Faculty G.K. Erubaeva, addressed the meeting participants with words of welcome and wishes for successful work. and the head of the Journalism and Translational Study department A.S. Buzelo.

During the two-hour meeting, a heated discussion took place on the most pressing issues: the guests expressed their opinion on the reasons for the failure of the country’s national team at the Tokyo Olympics, stated the depressing situation in Kazakhstani football, assessed the level of sports broadcasts and news content on TV, discussed other issues of concern to sports journalism community at the moment.

The stars  of journalism gave a number of advice to young people on the choice of further specialization and employment, invited to cooperate with their publications and promised all kinds of support to the students of Turan University in terms of practical training and internships.
