Foresight session «Organization of practice and employment of university students»

On February 25, 2022, a Foresight session was held in an online format on the ZOOM platform for students of the 3-4 courses of the EP “Tourism” and “Restaurant Business and Hotel Business”. The topic of the session was the discussion of the problems of internship and employability of university students. Within the framework of the event, 4th year students shared their experience: Zhumabek Arailym – EP “Tourism”, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University; Timur Gorbunov – EP «RBaHB», Turan University.

Representatives of practitioners voiced their vision of the problem: Nadezhda Vypritskaya – manager of «Grande Voyage» LLP, guide; Ekaterina Izmailova – manager of «Clover Tour» LLP; Rasul Kudebaev – teacher of the Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, supervisor of the reception department with experience in hotels: “Grand Hotel Tien Shan”, Holiday Inn and Novotel.

Adiya Iskakova, a career pathologist, career consultant, director of the scientific and educational center «Innovation», spoke to the students, who also told about the role of career guidance in choosing a profession. Zaituna Akhiyarova, Director of the Certification Center of the Hospitality Industry at KTA and KAGiR, spoke about the need for certification of future specialists in the tourism and hospitality industry.

The students were asked to perform an exercise for self-determination of their vision of future specialization and determining ways to achieve the goal.
