To go through all 17 regions of Kazakhstan on foot – this goal was set by 72-year-old traveler Sarsenbai Kotyrashev. He is a native of Zhanarkinsky district of Karaganda region, lived and worked in Zhezkazgan for many years. For the last 10 years before retirement, he worked in the Ulytau Nature Reserve-Museum as a master for the restoration of architectural monuments. He built a mosque in the village of Terisakkan, a house of pilgrims and a forge in the village of Ulytau.
On May 11, a meeting with him took place at Turan University. There were media representatives, teachers and students of the department «Tourism and Service», «support group» from fellow countrymen of Ulytau.
Kuanysh Amirkulovich Tazabekov, the first vice-rector of the university, editor-in-chief of the Book of Records of Kazakhstan (KInES), presented the traveler and the head of the organizational group Bakhtiyar Saparbekovich Kozhakhmetov with a book with a wish to get on its pages as heroes-record holders.
It was 1,700 km to Almaty, and the plan is to overcome 8000 km in total.
