Spiritual Life of Turan University Students

A literary and musical evening featuring Kazakh artists, poets, and public figures took place at Turan University on November 24, 2023. Akyns (poet-musicians) Alibek Shegebaev, Bekzhan Ashirbaev, and Bauyrzhan Alikozha shared the secrets of their poetic and musical expertise with the students. The event was organized by the Department of Journalism and Translation.

Alibek Shegebaev is a poet and the laureate of the Youth Union of the Republic of Kazakhstan award. He is also the recipient of the Aibergenov Prize for a collection of poems published in the “Zhalyn” magazine. In 2000, his poems were included in the “Anthology of Young Poets’ Poetry.”

Bekzhan Ashirbaev is an akyn, a composer, and his songs can be heard on his YouTube channel.

Bauyrzhan Alikozha’s poems are easily accessible in the online space. In addition to being a laureate of the “Serper” and “Shabyt” awards, he conducts journalism classes.

The students were impressed by the creative works of these poets and composers and express their gratitude for the meeting with their mentors Alma Kurmanbaeva, Laila Aldabergenkyzy, and Danа Zjobalaevа.
