On February 20, 2024, a visiting meeting of the Hoteliers Club of the Kazakhstan Association of Hotels and Restaurants (ТжҚИК), of which Turan University is a member (63 companies in total), took place. The chairman of the club is Nina Mikhailovna Filippova, director of the Takhar Hotel and a member of the attestation commission of the educational program «Restaurant business and Hotel business» at Turan University.
The meeting, which was held on the basis of the College of Tourism and Hospitality Industry (CofTaHI), was attended by the head of the Department of Tourism and Service, Candidate of Historical Sciences G.Sh. Fayzullina. Along with representatives of the hotel business, Galiya Shauketovna participated in discussions on «Training and staff development programs in Almaty hotels», «Attracting international tourists and strengthening the reputation of Almaty as a tourist destination». Anayatova, CofTaHI’s deputy for educational and methodological work, organized an audience to discuss the topic of stakeholders’ contribution to the development of the model of graduates of the hospitality industry. In addition, the participants were provided with information about the launch of practical seminars and master classes by ECOBER on the topics: «Optimization of laundry operation: efficient use of equipment and chemicals» and «Innovative technologies in a professional kitchen». Psychologist Elena Bezrukova conducted the training «Techniques for emotional recovery of hospitality industry workers».
A wonderful conclusion to the event was a tour of the college, acquaintance with its production base. It is noteworthy that many graduates of this college enter Turan University, and two full-time employees of the Department of Tourism and Service of Turan University, senior lecturers M.A. Musaev and A.V. Velichko are also graduates of CofTaHI. Such meetings bring together representatives of all levels of education and stakeholders, promote mutual understanding between participants interested in the development of the service sector.
