A methodological seminar for the teaching staff on the topic “Case Study: foreign experience” was held at Turan University

On September 27, 2023, a methodological seminar for the teaching staff on the topic “Case Study: foreign experience” was held at Turan University. The seminar was conducted by the Doctor of Economics, Professor Roland Giese (Germany).

Case Study is a method of teaching students who need to work with large amounts of information, it refers to the methods of situational analysis and uses the description of real situations in business, economics, and the social sphere to study management skills. It allows you to learn to understand the motivation of other people well and analyze business situations using decisions already made by other companies and life situations. The method is based on a detailed analysis of cases that have developed in a particular area, for example, in business. The advantage of the method is that students learn teamwork, analyze management decisions made and talk about how they should be changed.

The methodological seminar was held in an interactive mode, Case Study provides more effective assimilation of the material due to high emotional involvement and active participation of trainees. Professor R. Giese shared his personal experience of using this method in German universities. In his opinion, the case method allows you to improve “soft skills”, which are not taught at the university, but which are extremely necessary in the real workflow.
