The inner potential of young people is revealed in Turan!

Serious demands are placed on the education system in the modern world. It is important not only to give knowledge, but to reveal the inner potential of young people, to help them choose their direction for development. Teachers and students of the Higher School of International Relations and Diplomacy of the Humanitarian and Law Faculty of the Turan University held a meeting with students of grades 9, 10 and 11 at Alma School. The topic of the meeting was the exciting and prestigious international conference “Model UN” – Turan Model United Nations 2024 (TURAN MUN 2024), held annually at Turan University, dedicated to discuss current issues of world politics. The event is close in format to meetings of UN committees.

According to the Director of the Higher School of International Relations and Diplomacy, Professor Altynai Mukhambedyarova, the international conference “Model UN” is a unique opportunity for schoolchildren, college and university students to demonstrate their leadership, public speaking skills and diplomatic talent. High school students, college and university students from Kazakhstan and abroad are invited to participate in the conference, who act as delegates and official representatives of different countries – members of the UN. During the conference, participants acquire diplomatic, leadership, public speaking, language skills and the ability to come to a compromise. The goal of each committee is to find consensus and adopt a resolution on the issue under discussion. Work in the committees is carried out on the basis of the Procedural Rules, available on the official website of the conference.

A special role is given to the discussion of topical issues of our time, while delegates must observe the norms of diplomatic etiquette. “Model UN” helps to realize the importance of their future and feel part of the world community – a necessary, unique, inimitable component of it. Participants will get acquainted with student life, new impressions and a unique experience!

All participant will receive an official certificate, which is valuable for academic and professional development by the end of the conference!
