Memorial to those killed in the mountains

Almaty, Tuyuksu tract,

Small Almaty Gorge

On October 5, 2024, climbers, mountain tourists and mountain travel lovers gathered at the memorial “To those who died in the mountains”. This memorial was designed and built 25 years ago with funds raised by mountain climbers in Kazakhstan. And a rare case – in this anniversary year it turned out to be a warm sunny day. The official part of the memorial ceremony was traditionally opened by Honored Master of Sports in mountaineering Yuri Moiseev. To honor the memory of Turan University graduate Vitaly Dvoretsky, who died in 2018 in the mountains of the Kyrgyz Alatoo, Vitaly’s aunt, sister and niece, as well as his teacher, professor of Turan University Vladimir Nikolaevich Vukolov, came to the memorial. More than 200 people came to honor those who died in the mountains.
