“Turandot” represents collective image of women of Turan – the territory of Central Asia, of which Kazakhstan was a part. This symbol, which absorbed the richness of oriental myths and legends, has inspired many world cultural figures and is filled with deep meanings.
The sculpture, created by Kazakh artist Nurlan Abishev, is made of bronze and has a height of 180 cm and a diameter of 100 cm, complemented by a pedestal with a height of 50 cm.
We hope that this work of art will become a new highlight of Almaty, a meeting place for young people striving for knowledge and creativity. The installation of the sculpture was carried out at the expense of Turan University’s own funds. This wonderful gift to the city will emphasize the uniqueness and charm of the capital of the Great Steppe.
