From October 10 to 11, 2024, the international scientific and practical conference “Silk Road: Cooperation through the prism of tourism” was held in Tashkent, the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The conference was organized by the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, the Committee on Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Scientific Research Institute for Tourism Development together with international partners.
The purpose of the conference was to constructively exchange views and experiences of the Silk Road countries, as well as to strengthen mutually beneficial partnerships to develop a unified strategy for the development of tourism in the region.
The conference was attended by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of Uzbekistan, representatives of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Committee on Tourism, the Research Institute for Tourism Development, Turan university, the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage “Silk Road”, the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, Tashkent State University of Economics, Altai State University (Russian Federation), as well as representatives of the international scientific journal Science and Innovation, leading scientists and experts from 25 countries.
One of the key events of the conference was the solemn presentation of the title “Honorary Professor of the Scientific Research Institute of Tourism Development” for a significant contribution to the development of tourism and the preservation of cultural heritage. This award also symbolized recognition of merit and expression of gratitude for the contribution to the activities of the Institute.
Among the awardees was Kultai Ogytaevna Adilova, Associate Professor at the Higher School of Law, who represented «Turan» university at the conference. In her speech at the plenary session, Kultai Adilova noted the importance of the Silk Road as a symbol of centuries-old cooperation and stressed the need to combine efforts to preserve this unique space. She also stressed the priority of scientific research and international cooperation supported by the university of «Turan».
The signing ceremony of a memorandum of cooperation between the university of «Turan» and the Scientific Research Institute for Tourism Development was also held within the framework of the conference.
