On December 4, 2024, the Higher School of Media and Intercultural Communication of Turan University held a Republican round table titled “Current Problems of Education and Science in the Field of Modern Mass Media”, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the writer and publicist Sarah Mynzhasarova. The event was attended by renowned scientists from various regions of Kazakhstan, as well as the cities of Astana and Almaty.
Opening the meeting, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development, Science, and Innovation at Turan University, Candidate of Economics, PhD Razakova Dina Ibragimovna, wished all participants a productive session.
Deputy Chairman of the Writers’ Union, Doctor of Philology, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences, and Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper Kazakh Adebieti, Bauyrzhan Zhakyp, delivered a speech on the significance of Sarah Mynzhasarova’s literary and journalistic works for the new generation of journalists.
Head of the Department at the M. Auezov Institute of Literature and Art, Doctor of Philology, Professor Orda Gulzhakhan, highlighted the artistic aspects of the writer’s novels.
Writer-publicist Magira Kozhakhmet, Vice-Rector of the Eurasian Humanitarian Institute named after A. Kusainov, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Kadyr Akhmetov, poet Seifulla Ospanov, writer-publicist Beibit Koishybai, and others conducted a comprehensive analysis of Sarah Mynzhasarova’s works.
During the event, a documentary film created by second-year students of the Journalism program at Turan University about Sarah Mynzhasarova was presented.
