The Consul General of the Republic of Lithuania in Almaty at Turan University

Today, on March 18, 2025, the Consul General of the Republic of Lithuania in Almaty, Mr. Gvidas Kerušauskas, visited Turan University with a guest lecture titled: “Lithuania. 35 Years of Independence – Political Changes and Economic Development.”

 

During the lecture, Mr. Kerušauskas emphasized the close, mutually beneficial, and dynamic cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Republic of Lithuania. He provided a comprehensive overview of Lithuania’s independence history, strategic directions, economic development, and the country’s achievements over the years.

 

Notably, within a short period, Lithuania has achieved stable economic growth, with wholesale and retail trade increasing in 2024, along with a 2.6% rise in investments. The country has also become one of the leaders in infrastructure projects, scientific advancements, and technological innovations. Lithuania’s dynamic development demonstrates its ability to adapt to modern challenges and global demands.

 

Furthermore, Mr. Consul spoke about educational opportunities in Lithuania, available grant programs, as well as the advantages and priorities of Lithuanian education.

 

In conclusion, Mr. Kerušauskas emphasized that the most important asset of any country is its human resources.
