On April 29, 2025, a guest lecture on “Ensuring the protection of the rights and security of participants in the European criminal process (using the example of the Republic of Latvia)” was held at the Turan University Higher School of Law in an online format. The lecture was delivered by Marina Vladimirovna Sumbarova, Associate Professor at the Baltic International Academy (Riga, Latvia). The meeting was moderated by Akimzhanov Talgat Kurmanovich, Doctor of Law, Professor, Director of the Law Research Institute, Professor at the Turan University Graduate School of Law. The lecture reviewed modern approaches to the protection of the rights of participants in criminal proceedings in the EU countries, with an emphasis on the law enforcement practice of the Republic of Latvia. The event aroused great interest among undergraduates and teachers, becoming a significant contribution to the development of international legal dialogue.
