On May 03, 2025, a scientific and educational seminar was held for 1st-year students of the educational institution “Information Systems” on the topic “Your path to success: GPA, science, competitions.”
Yekaterina Romanovna Kim, cand.tech.sc., associate professor at the Higher School of Information Technology at Turan University, addressed the students. Yekaterina Romanovna is a supervisor for research, innovation and research activities of students, international cooperation and academic mobility. She also actively acts as a mentor and supervisor of students at various student competitions of scientific and business projects, Olympiads and conferences of national and international level.
During the seminar, Kim Ye.R. told the students about the GPA, what it is for, the implementation of the integral GPA, various competitions, Olympiads, hackathons and other events where students can participate. The results of the students of OP 6B06101 – Information systems and 6B06103 – Intelligent Robotics over the past 5 years were also demonstrated.
1st-year students Usen Nurdaulet and 3rd-year students Idrissova Rufina shared with the children their experience of participating in the Republican Subject Olympiad and the International Student Research Competition.
At the end of the seminar, Kim Ye.R. gave recommendations to students about participating in research activities.
After the seminar, the students actively asked questions about the types of competitions, leadership and mentoring.
