The First Forum of Sinology in Central Asia

The First Forum of Sinology in Central Asia was held in Almaty on May 21, 2025. The large-scale event brought together leading experts, scientists, teachers and students from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and other countries in the region.

 

The forum was organized by the Belt and Road Scientific and Educational Center, the World Center for Sinology and the Association of Sinologists of Almaty. The main goal of the forum is to unite the efforts of specialists studying China and interacting with it in the context of the rapidly developing dialogue between China and the countries of Central Asia.

 

Abaeva Aigerim Bulatovna, senior lecturer at the Higher School of International relations and diplomacy, and Shiderina Gaukhar Nurlanovna, director of the Higher School of tourism and hospitality, took part in the First Forum of Sinology in Central Asia.

 

The forum was organized by the World Center for Chinese Studies (PRC), the Belt and Road Research and Education Center (Kazakhstan), and the Almaty Association of Sinologists with the support of the Consulate General of the PRC in Almaty. The development of cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and China is rapidly gaining momentum – from politics and economics to cultural and humanitarian ties. In the context of the rapid development of Chinese-Central Asian relations, the importance of such dialogues is becoming increasingly important – especially for young people who are ready to become a bridge between cultures.
