On October 1-5, 2025, the III National Museum Festival of the Kyrgyz Republic «Aikol Museum» was held in the southernmost region of Kyrgyzstan, in the city of Batken (Altyn Kapalova, head of the project, Museum Support Program at the University of Central Asia). The festival is a large–scale cultural event dedicated to the exchange of best practices in the museum field, the presentation of new initiatives and the strengthening of the role of museums in society. The main theme of the festival is «Inclusive Museum». The guest program was attended by G.Sh.Fayzullina, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Assoc. Professor of the Higher School of Tourism and Hospitality of Turan University with a report «Museums as a platform for children’s education and quality family leisure».
The competition program featured projects that reveal the role of women in society (the history of women shepherds, miners, etc.). Museums also implemented projects to create manuals for museum staff, interactive replicas of museum objects for visitors (sculptures from the fund of the G.Aitiev State Museum of Art, shyrdaki from the Naryn Regional Historical and Ethnographic Museum to them, anthropomorphic sculptures from the Museum complex of the Department of Culture of the Leilek district «Museum of History and Heritage», etc.). In one of the nominations, the winner was a joint project by Victoria Biryukova (activist, art curator, expert on inclusion and disability) and the Tashtanbek Akmatov Memorial Museum. A project about the attitude of society towards women with disabilities.
Two sign language translators from Kyrgyz and Russian were involved in the work of the festival. And in the «Choice of the Professional Community» nomination, a joint project with the Alykul Osmonov Museum by activists from the Kyrgyz Society for the Blind and Deaf Aliya Turdieva, Olga Lyubchenko, Irina Bykhova on the theme «Liberation: countering the repression of sign language in Kyrgyzstan» won.
As part of the festival, the participants visited the local Museum complex Aigul-Too, went to the place of accumulation of petroglyphs «Kara Egiz», got acquainted with the tourist potential of the region.
