A significant milestone for the academic and innovation community of Central Asia: the Kazakhstan Association of University Business Incubators and Accelerators (KAUBIA), headquartered at Turan University, has signed a contract to participate in the large-scale international project “Modernization of the National Innovation Ecosystem of Uzbekistan (MUNIS)”.
The project is implemented with the support of the World Bank and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Its goal is to develop startup support mechanisms, transform technology parks, and enhance the efficiency of research commercialization.
The KAUBIA team, composed of leading Kazakhstani experts, was selected among international consultants from South Korea, Spain, and Russia.
From Turan University, the project is led by Dr. Yerbolat Orazbekuly, PhD, Associate Professor, and Director of the Center for Commercialization.
Within the project, the team will:
“For us, this is more than a project. It’s an opportunity to showcase the export of Kazakhstani expertise in innovation management and Deep Tech commercialization, and to strengthen technological cooperation among Central Asian countries,” said Yerbolat Orazbekuly.
Today, the KAUBIA Association, hosted by Turan University, unites 25 active members — 20 universities, 3 venture funds, 1 IT hub, and 1 consulting company.
Turan University consistently develops the areas of research commercialization, technological entrepreneurship, and knowledge transfer. The university’s Center for Commercialization is one of Kazakhstan’s leading institutions connecting academic research with business and investment.
