Presentation of a popular science essay by Professor R.A. Alshanov

Turan University hosted a presentation of a popular science essay by Doctor of Economics, Professor Rahman Alshanovich Alshanov entitled “Alexander the Great’s Military Expedition to the Saka lands. From the history of Hakan Shu.”

 

This work is devoted to the little-studied pages of the history of the Saka tribes and the military campaign of Alexander the Great, reflected in ancient sources. The essay examines the historical parallels between ancient chronicles and the Turkic tradition, raises issues of cultural memory, continuity and identity formation in the context of the ancient history of Central Asia. The author makes an attempt to look at the events of the era of Alexander the Great through the prism of the local Turkic civilization tradition, which gives the study special relevance and novelty.

  • Mukhambedyarova Altynai Tuleuovna is a research professor, Doctor of Political Sciences, Director of the International Research Center “Turan Civilization”.

 

The presentation was moderated by Lieutenant General Beksultan Sarsekov, Chairman of the Presidium of the Republican Public Association “Council of Generals”.

  • Balayeva Ibrahimhalila Nariman oglu, Head of the International Organizing Committee for the Convening of the Grand Turkic Kurultai;
  • Gasimova Parviz Pasha oglu, a leading researcher at the Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, PhD in History, specialist in the Middle and Late Bronze Ages and theoretical archaeology.

The presentation took place in an atmosphere of lively scientific exchange, accompanied by a meaningful discussion about the significance of the Saka civilization in the context of world history and its influence on the formation of the cultural code of the Turkic peoples. The participants noted the high level of research and the importance of the work for deepening historical awareness and strengthening scientific dialogue between the countries of the Turkic world.
