The “National Dictation” project was held at “Turan” University

At the initiative of the International »Qazaq Tili» Society and the National Scientific and Practical Center «Til-Qazyna» from October 22 to 23, 2025, more than 630 first- and second-year students of Turan University (Kazakh, Russian, and English departments) participated in the republican «National Dictation» project.

Lecturers who administered the dictation: Honored guests of the «National Dictation» project: Tölegenov T. Q., Karshigayeva A.A., Zhagiparova M.M., Aldabergenova M.T., Mukhametqali Aida, Togaibekova Zh.B., Mombek A.А, Mazinova A.Zh.

Invited Guests:

1. Qalymbet Bakhyt Аbiiruly – Head of the Department of Language Development and Onomastics of the Department of Internal Policy of Almaty.
2. Sagidolla Syqymbaiuly – Member of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan, member of the Union of Writers of the World’s Peoples, Honored Journalist of Kazakhstan, Honored Border Guard of Kazakhstan, military journalist, retired colonel.
3. Shonabai Gulzhanat Taubaevna – Member of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan, member of the Union of Writers of the World’s Peoples, executive editor of the international magazine «Bai Äulet», journalist.
4. Makhanova Zakhra Anuarovna – Librarian of the RSE «Republican Library for the Blind and Visually Impaired Citizens», member of the Union of Writers of the World’s Peoples, holder of the titles «Excellence in Culture», «Master of Library Science», and laureate of the International Prize named after Makhambet.

The guests read the dictation text and shared valuable advice with the students, emphasizing the importance of supporting and elevating the status of the state language while highlighting that the future of the nation lies in the hands of young people.

On October 22–23, 2025, university staff members, academic faculty, and administrative representatives also took part in the event.

The text was read by Associate Professor Aynur Aralbekovna Karshigaeva and Master of Pedagogical Sciences, Senior Lecturer Mayra Musayevna Zhagiparova.

For native speakers:

As the dictation text, an excerpt from Akhmet Baitursynov’s article “Oqu Zhaiy,” published in the «Qazaq» newspaper in 1913, was selected.

For learners of Kazakh as a second language:

A short piece titled “Otan” (“Homeland”) was chosen as the dictation text.

The event was organized by the Higher School of «Media and Intercultural Communication» of Turan University.
