Guest Lecture: “Investment Fundamentals: Stocks, Bonds, Funds, and ETFs”

The Higher School of Finance and Accounting of Turan University, in partnership with the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market (ARDFM), held a guest lecture titled “Investment Fundamentals: Stocks, Bonds, Funds, and ETFs” as part of the FinGramota National Financial Literacy Program.

The event took place on October 31, 2025, at Turan University, bringing together students interested in managing personal finances and exploring investment opportunities. Participants gained valuable insights into the structure and dynamics of Kazakhstan’s financial market.

The speaker, Ms. Aziza Ordabaeva, Director of the Client Relations Department at the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), shared her professional experience and practical guidance.

During the lecture, she explained:

• the key differences between stocks and bonds and how they operate,
• the role and benefits of investment funds and ETFs,
• the risks and opportunities available to retail investors,
• how to create a diversified portfolio even with limited resources,
• and which investment instruments are accessible in Kazakhstan and abroad.

The lecture was held in an interactive format, encouraging active discussion and student engagement. Attendees not only learned theoretical concepts but also received practical advice on developing long-term investment strategies and managing their personal finances effectively.

This initiative was organized in collaboration with the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market as part of a national effort to enhance financial literacy and promote a culture of financial responsibility among youth.
