A Return to the Past: How the Collaborative Concert of Shisai Dance Organization Went
The dance organization Shisai continues the tradition established last year — hosting an annual collaborative concert that unites creative teams from different universities.
On October 24, at Turan University, the concert “Nostalgia” took place — a symbolic return to the atmosphere of the 1990s and early 2000s, a time when dance was a form of self-expression and a symbol of freedom.
The members of Shisai presented a series of performances reflecting the evolution of street culture — from old-school styles to modern trends.
Particular attention was drawn to the collaborative acts with dance teams from other universities:
as well as with creative organizations from Turan University — Turan’s Trumps and Muslab.
The joint performances paid tribute to the musical icons of the era — Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, and the hip-hop and rap artists of the 1990s. These acts became a homage to the legends, showing how classics blend with modern movement and the unique Shisai style.
Special thanks go to the head of the Youth Affairs Department, Mansur Alimov, for his support and contribution to the development of Shisai. His attention and belief in the participants help the organization grow and strengthen its role in university culture.
For Shisai, “Nostalgia” became a symbol of renewal and a reminder of the roots — of the time when everything began with street dance and the sincere desire to be oneself. This concert proved that the past can inspire the present, creating a new rhythm filled with the energy of dance and unity.
