Students and faculty members of the Higher School of Tourism and Hospitality of Turan University took part in the International Youth Forum of Intellectuals dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The forum was held from December 16 to 20, 2025, in the city of Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyz Republic, and brought together youth delegations from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
Turan University was represented at the forum by a delegation consisting of Senior Lecturer of the Higher School of Tourism and Hospitality A.V. Velichko, as well as students of the “Tourism” educational program: third-year students Sarsenova Sabina, Kuzubaev Marat, Berik Nurai, and Nursultan Islam; and second-year students Kalinina Viktoriya and Ilakhunova Guzyal.
Within the framework of the forum, participants presented their countries and their contribution to the Great Victory. One of the key events was the international exhibition “We Won Together”, where each delegation showcased its own thematic stand. The forum program also included a project session with presentations by national teams dedicated to preserving the memory of the Great Patriotic War in the CIS countries, as well as round tables, discussions, and lectures on the forum’s key themes.
Special importance was given to commemorative and symbolic events: participants joined the “Letter of Peace” initiative, created an art installation dedicated to the memory of relatives and loved ones who perished during the war, and laid flowers at memorials in the village of Ananyevo and the city of Cholpon-Ata.
As part of the cultural and educational program, the delegations visited the Georgy Lyashchenko School in the village of Ananyevo, where students presented exhibits from the school museum, performed creative numbers, and took part in exhibitions and project presentations. This format of interaction is particularly important for passing on historical memory and knowledge to younger generations.
The International Youth Forum of Intellectuals became a significant platform for exchanging views, strengthening intercultural dialogue, building new connections, and promoting ideas of preserving the historical memory of the Great Victory.
