Foreign students at our university actively get acquainted with the life and culture of Almaty, visit interesting places, and share their impressions with each other. Based on one of these joint city trips, on January 23, an open lesson was held in A1 and A2 groups on the topic “My Favorite Places in My Country and in Almaty.”
Students from China, the Republic of South Africa, Turkey, and Cameroon participated in the open lesson.
The students prepared presentations and reports in Russian about their favorite places in Almaty and in their home countries. They demonstrated active use of the Russian language: talking about their favorite places, engaging in dialogue, and presenting their ideas to the audience. A special feature of the lesson was an interactive quest, which turned the lesson into an engaging game where students practiced and reinforced the material by completing tasks.
Guests were able to see how foreign students apply the learned material in practice. The students demonstrated confident Russian language skills, expressed their thoughts clearly, and interacted actively with each other. Their presentations clearly showcased their achieved progress.
Such lessons play a key role in education: they contribute to strengthening language competence, improving communication skills, and working confidently with the material. The friendly and supportive atmosphere of the lessons motivates students to participate actively and feel confident in communicating in Russian.
