Alexandra Steinpress took 1st place at the Republican intellectual and cognitive Olympiad

On April 14, 2023, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Faculty of Philology, Department of Kazakh Linguistics named after A. Baitursynov organized «Қазақ тілінде сөйле, әлемді таң қылып, Қазақстан – тәуелсіз ел мәңгілік!» republican intellectual and cognitive Olympiad. A 1st year student of the specialty “Restaurant business and hotel business” (russian department) took part in this Olympiad Alexandra Steinpress, who was awarded a diploma of the 1st degree. The head of the student, senior lecturer of the Department of Journalism and Translation, Mаira Musaevna Zhagiparova, was presented with a “Letter of Thanks”.  The purpose of the Olympiad is to increase the level of recognition of culture and history, traditions, national values and strengthen the status of the state language by students of other nationalities in universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan along with knowledge of the state language.

Students of russian, ukrainian, polish, belarusian, bulgarian, chinese, indian, german, korean, chechen, dungan, armenian nationalities took part in the Olympiad.

The Olympiad was held in the kazakh language.

I tour – video «Дұрыс мамандық таңдау – жарқын болашақ кепілі» (presentation of yourself, profession) (3 minutes).

II tour – «Ұлт құндылығы тілінде, сөйле қазақ тілінде» (oral response to selected materials, writing a story).

III tour –  «Ұтқыр жауап» (a quick, correct answer to the questions asked. Each participant was asked 7 questions).

We wish the winner to be the best in her studies and hope that in the future she will contribute to the development of the state language.
