The annual Republican Sirius Cup tournament has come to an end

On April 8-9, 2023, the Sirius Cup VI debate tournament was held at Turan University, dedicated to the traditional Republican Student League, organized by the Sirius intellectual debate Club.

In addition to the city of Almaty, 64 factions, 128 participants from Ust-Kamenogorsk, Shymkent and Aktobe took part in the large-scale tournament. During the tournament, our participants discussed topical issues of today that require political, legal, critical thinking and tried to find the best solution.

A year later, the Sirius Cup tournament was able to interest everyone with its news and changes. Compared to the tournament held a year ago, only undergraduate students were able to participate this time.

During the debate, the judge was given the opportunity to “double elimination” to prevent problems arising from incorrect submission, anxiety or incorrect preparation for the topic. Thanks to this innovation, the participants had the opportunity to lose twice. It is worth noting that this was not the case in any other tournament organized by universities.

The theme of the Sirius Cup VI tournament is a modern wedding. In other words, the tournament was attended by such solemn moments as the wedding and the ceremony of “shashu”.

So, let’s sum up the results of a two-day intense competition:

Thanks to Myrzakulov’s speech and oratory, Daulet became the best speaker and, in addition to the network, received a prize of 50,000 tenge.

Speakers of the Zhiender faction Zhumashev Bekzat and Aueshov Amanzhol were awarded in the next nomination “the best breakthrough”.

Thanks to selfless preparation and enthusiasm, the members of the “Agalar” faction, Ongarov Nurzhan and Latifov Sanzhar, took the honorable first place in the APF format with a prize prize of 300,000 tenge.

In second place were the members of the Zhekzhattar faction Saparova Zhanna and Beisenali Kubyla, who received a cash prize of 200,000 tenge.

Ingenuity and the desire to win placed the speakers of the Dostar faction Zhaksylyk Botkoz and Myrzakulov Dauleta in third place, and brought letters of thanks to the participants with a prize of 150,000 tenge.

Congratulations to all the debaters who won the tournament, and we wish you to reach new heights and shine like stars!

On behalf of the Sirius intellectual debate club, we express our special gratitude to the leadership of Turan University, which granted permission to hold a tournament at the republican level at our university.
