Climbing to Turan Peak in honor of World Tourism Day

September 23-24, 2023 in the framework of the climbing tour, timed to the World Tourism Day, the team of the university “Turan” together with the Federation of Sports Tourism of Almaty made an ascent to Turan Peak (3970 m., 1A k.s. in the northern spurs of the Ile-Alatau Range, Northern Tien Shan). More than 50 people took part in the ascent, including employees and students of the department of “Tourism and Service” Berkimbayev T.B., Orlova A.V. and Khalitova L.R.

By the decision of the Onomastic Commission of Almaty region from June 29, 2023 the peak of 3970 m. was given the name “Turan”, and in connection with this teams of the university “Turan” and the Federation of Mountaineering were installed commemorative signs in Kazakh and Russian languages on the peak Turan.
