International Conference «Building a Cultural Bridge between Turkic Peoples and Native Americans»

The international conference «Building a Cultural Bridge between Turkic Peoples and Native Americans» took place in Istanbul, organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Maltepe and Turan University. The conference opened by Mayor Ali Kilic and attended by numerous scholars, writers, and guests from the national and international community, especially from the Turkic world, proceeded in three sessions.

 

Honorary Statesman of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor Adil Akhmet, Rector of Turan University and President of Higher Education Association of Republic of Kazakhstan of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor Rakhman Alshanov, General Director of the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science, and Religious Studies, Professor Serik Seidumanov, Associate Professor at Ege University and the Institute of Turkish World Research, Pinar Fedakar, Professor of the Department of American Culture and Literature at Hacettepe University, Meldan Tanrısal, sociologist, researcher of shamans and Siberian native Timur Davletov, anthropologist, cultural Specialist from the Crow Canyon Archaeological Center, Dan Simplicio of the Zuni-Pueblo tribe, former president of the Turkish Coalition of America Lincoln McCurdy, Director-Founder of «Creative Emergence LLC» Chad Pfeiffer of the Navaho tribe, and member of the operational group on events dedicated to missing and murdered indigenous peoples of America, Jana Pfeiffer, participated in the conference.

 

The conference coordinator is the Vice-Rector for External Relations and Doctoral Studies of Turan University, Gulzhanat Tayauova.
