On May 15, 2024, the XVI Republican Student subject Olympiad for the educational program “Finance” was held at Turan University

Applications for participation in the Olympiad were submitted by 27 universities, of which 10 universities were selected according to the requirements stated by the organizers.

Among those selected, by the decision of the Organizing Committee of the Olympiad, there were students and scientific supervisors from the following universities: Abai Myrzakhmetov Kokshetau University, Esil University Institution, M.H. Dulati Taraz Regional University, Almaty Management University, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Karaganda Buketov University, Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz, Institution “Turan University”.

The partners of the Olympiad were the Project to improve financial literacy of the population of the Department of Consumer Protection of Financial Services of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market, JSC “Bank CenterCredit”, JSC “Jusan Bank”, LLP “Microfinance Organization “Kredit Seven Kazakhstan”, LLP “Microfinance Organization “ONE CREDIT”.

As part of the Olympiad jury:

• Mukhamed Bagdatuly is the chief specialist of the Department for Improving Financial Literacy of the Population, the Department of Consumer Protection of Financial Services, the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market;
• Gabdullina Inabat – Deputy Director of Microfinance Organization Kredit Seven Kazakhstan LLP;
• Datkaev Alzhan – Director of ONE CREDIT Microfinance Organization LLP;
• Aliya Nurlanovna – Head of the Cost Control Directorate of the Planning and Finance Center of Bank CenterCredit JSC;
• Uzdyaev Alexander– Managing Director of JSC “Jusan Bank”.

In the second stage, the students who passed the selection participated in three rounds:

1. Testing in the disciplines of “Taxes and Taxation”, “Corporate Finance”, “Banking”, “Financial Markets and Intermediaries”;
2. Competitions of captains of “Finance IQ”;
3. Protection of research projects on the topic of the Olympiad.

An interesting moment was the showing of video cards of universities “Financier of the Future”, which were evaluated by the number of views and comments on Instagram.

According to the results of the competition, by the decision of the jury, the places were distributed as follows:

• 1st place – Alimbayeva Alina, Stankevskaya Angelina (Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz);
• 2nd place – Shokparov Yerasyl, Mukhit Nurayat (M.H. Dulati Taraz Regional University);
• 2nd place – Sydykova Yasmina, Seishonlo Leila, Dusuphan Dina (Institution “Turan University”);
• 3rd place – Saparkul Ayaulym, Sametkhan Dinmuhamed, Akenev Arlan (Al-Farabi Kazakh National University);
• 3rd place – Zharylgapova Zhansaya, Zhaukarbekova Akniyet, Madikan Zere (Karaganda University);
• 3rd place – Nurtaza Daryn, Karimov Ernazar, Karimov Daniyal (Almaty Management University).

The winners of the Olympiad were awarded diplomas and valuable prizes.
