On September 22, a major international educational forum and seminar took place in Almaty, organized by Turan University in collaboration with the Department of Education of Sichuan Province (China), the Akimat of Almaty, and the Association of Universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In the morning, a seminar for school and college directors of Almaty was held, where Chinese and Kazakhstani experts discussed teacher training, digital innovation, and the future of secondary education. The seminar featured presentations addressing key issues in education. The first speaker, Professor Zhao Guohua, Rector of Sichuan Normal University, emphasized the importance of intercultural dialogue, internationalization, and the preparation of globally competitive professionals, highlighting the role of cross-cultural skills. Ms. Hu Yi, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Affiliated Middle School of Sichuan Normal University, outlined important aspects of teacher–student interaction and effective pedagogical engagement.
Overall, the seminar served as a platform for experience exchange and for building a bridge between schools in Kazakhstan and China. The event concluded with the presentation of educational equipment and certificates to participants.
In the afternoon, the Forum of Rectors of Chinese and Kazakhstani Universities was held under the theme “Promoting China–Kazakhstan Educational Cooperation in the New Era of Higher Education.”
The forum brought together rectors of leading universities from both countries, including Mr. Pubu Dunzhu, Vice Governor of Sichuan Province; Ms. Shi Jing, Deputy Director of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education; Ms. Jiang Wei, Consul General of China in Almaty; Mr. A.B. Kaldybekov, Deputy Akim of Almaty; Mr. N.E. Abdrakhim, First Deputy Akim of Almaty Region; and representatives of various educational organizations.
The forum featured speeches by the rectors of Sichuan Normal University, Sichuan Agricultural University, and Southwest University of Science and Technology. From Kazakhstan, presentations were made by Zhetysu University, Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications, the Kazakh Academy of Sport and Tourism, the International Educational Corporation, and the Almaty Technological University.
