Sharip Abdrakhmanovich Ishmukhamedov, a Research Associate of the Center for Regional Studies at the Graduate School of International Relations and Diplomacy, a Candidate of Political science, participated in the Seminar for educators and researchers from Central Asia and the Caucasus, held on November 3-9, 2025, at the Ben-Zvi Institute in Jerusalem (Israel). Participants of the Seminar had an opportunity to learn about the history of the state of Israel and the culture of its people. They were offered an engaging program which included lectures on Israeli history and culture, meetings with prominent Israeli persons, and visits to historical sites. Participants learned about the achievements of Israel and the daily life of its people. Director of the Ben-Zvi Institute Dr. Zeev Levin wrote on his Facebook page: “Last week at the Yad Ben-Zvi Institute, I hosted a seminar for researchers and educators from Central Asia and the Caucasus. We traveled across the country — visiting Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Jaffa, Ramla, Sderot, Rahat, and Nir Oz. Throughout the program, we held numerous meetings with experts representing various sectors of Israeli society — from a former Member of Parliament and a Deputy Mayor to IDF spokespersons, diplomats, and academics. We also met people from the private and business sectors — Jews, Muslims, Christians, Arabs, Palestinians, and Bedouins — each sharing their personal, yet profoundly interconnected, experiences of life in Israel during these challenging times.” The seminar participants received certificates of participation.
Dr. Ishmukhamedov’s participation in the Seminar occurred within the frame of the collaboration between the Center for Regional Studies and Ben-Zvi Institute, which jointly organized the International conference “At the Crossroads of Cultures: The Jews of Central Asia and the Caucasus” at Turan University in June 2025.
