Vostochny (Oriental) Bazaar in Kazan: opportunities for international cooperation

On November 13-14, 2025, the Second International Scientific and Practical Conference «Cultural Cooperation with the countries of the East and Asia: current state and development Prospects» was held within the framework of the International Festival of National Cultures « Vostochny (Oriental) Bazaar in Kazan». The conference was attended by Associate Professor of the Higher School of Tourism and Hospitality, Ph.D. Fayzullina G.Sh. with a report on «Collections of Tatar costume in museum collections of Kazakhstan».

The President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, R.N. Minnikhanov, delivered a welcoming speech at the plenary session. He shared the experience of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan in the context of international scientific and cultural cooperation. The presentations of the participants of the section «Cultural Heritage and Tourism in the new reality» aroused particular interest. Tatarstan’s experience in attracting tourists through the preservation of cultural heritage sites was presented. For example, the transformation of the buildings of the Shamovskaya Hospital and the House of Printing into hotels (TASIGO Kazn Palace and Nogai), the development of sightseeing routes under the program «Riddles of Kazan», etc.

The organizers suggested working on joint publications in the process of studying the methodology for evaluating the effectiveness of tourist destinations and their promotion.
