Turan University Alumnus Appointed Head of Almaty Police Department

On January 9, 2026, Aidyn Kabduldinov, an alumnus of Turan University and former Head of the North Kazakhstan Region Police Department, was appointed as the new Chief of the Almaty Police Department.

 

Aidyn Toktarovich Kabduldinov graduated from the Almaty Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 1998, majoring in Jurisprudence. In 2018, he earned his Master’s degree in Accounting and Audit from Turan University.

 

Aidyn Kabduldinov holds the rank of Major General of Police. He began his career in internal affairs as a detective in the Ust-Kamenogorsk City Police Department. Since 2000, he has served in various divisions of the Almaty Police. Starting in 2004, he worked in the Internal Security Division of the Almaty City Police Department, where he held positions as an investigator, operative officer, and head of the department.

 

In 2012, he was appointed Deputy Head of the Internal Security Division of the Almaty Police, and in 2017, he became the Head of this division. He also led the Internal Security Division of the West Kazakhstan Region Police Department. On April 23, 2020, he was appointed Deputy Head of the Almaty City Police Department. From late January 2022 until the present, he served as the Head of the North Kazakhstan Region Police Department.
