Turan University invites you to take part in the II stage of the XVIII Republican Subject Olympiad (hereinafter – RSO) among students of higher education institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the educational program “6B06101 – Information Systems”, which will be held on April 25, 2026.
The main goals and objectives of the RSO are to stimulate students’ educational, cognitive, and research activities; to reveal their professional and personal potential, self-awareness, and creative abilities; to create conditions for self-realization and self-affirmation; to foster civic responsibility; to identify and support the most talented and gifted students; and to develop an active professional attitude toward improving the education system.
Students of higher education institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan enrolled in the educational program «6B06101 – Information Systems» are eligible to participate in the II stage of the RSO.
In accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, based on the results of the I stage of the selection process, each university forms one team consisting of three students. The team must be accompanied by a supervisor.
The RSO is held in two rounds: Round I – theoretical, Round II – programming.
Round I (theoretical) is conducted in the form of individual testing for each participant in the disciplines “Computer Networks” and “Databases” (individual tests with team scoring).
Round II (practical) is conducted in the form of a team programming contest on the platform https://codeforces.com/ (C++, C#, Python, Java, JavaScript, Pascal).
The working languages of the RSO are Kazakh and Russian.
Applications for participation must be submitted via the registration form (link) by April 17, 2026 (inclusive), along with the following required documents:
1) A cover letter on the official letterhead of the university, signed by the rector and certified with a seal;
2) An application form in accordance with Appendix 1;
3) An extract from the minutes of the Academic Council meeting on the results of the I stage of the XVIII Republican Subject Olympiad;
4) Electronic student IDs of the participants.
The original application and identity documents (ID cards and electronic student IDs) must be presented upon arrival.
All expenses related to participation in the Olympiad (travel, accommodation, meals) are covered by the sending party. Team members must carry their ID cards and electronic student IDs.
