Literary living room “Contemporary literature for children and about children” – international project for lovers of reading

The event of the international project “Literary Lounge” took place in Kazakhstan on December 10, 2021.  It was attended by students of educational programs “Journalism”, “Public Relations”, “Translation Studies” and teachers of the department.

 

The organizers of the event are the ANO for the Development of Culture and Education “Sheremetev Center” and the National Research Nizhny Novgorod State University.  N.I.  Lobachevsky.  The project was supported by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.

 

The main platforms for the literary living room were Turan University, Lakeview School (New School) and the City Youth Library – a branch of the Central Library System in Almaty.

 

The living room was held in full-time format and gathered more than 100 people.

 

Within the framework of the literary drawing room, Igor Malyshev, a writer, publicist, was awarded the “Hope” award from the “Moscow” magazine (2001), the “Discovery of the Year” award from “Roman-Gazeta” (2006), winner of the “Crystal Rose” award of Viktor Rozov  “(2007) and the festival” Golden Knight “(2011) and many other awards.

 

The main trends in modern literature for children and adolescents were introduced by the writer Viktoria Lebedeva, the winner of the International Competition.  S.V.  Mikhalkova, editor of the Children’s Literature publishing house.

 

Within the framework of the literary living room, master classes “How to read and understand modern poetry”, “A modern fairy tale in literature and media”, a seminar “The problem of” the child and the Internet “in modern literature”  “.  The literary drawing room ended with a discussion “What should be literature for teenagers”.

 

During the work of the living room, modern books for children and adolescents were presented, issues of how to instill an interest in reading in the younger generation and how to talk about a literary work were discussed.  Students got a lot of impressions and learned a lot about the modern literary process first-hand – from writers and publicists.

 

For journalism students this is a great opportunity to talk about contemporary creativity, about the literary process, for reading lovers – to learn about new products.

 

The project was also successfully held in Moldova on November 25, 2021 and Uzbekistan on November 30, 2021, bringing together about 500 participants from 20 countries of the world who joined online.
