Round table on the topic “Diversification of the economy: a new growth model”

On February 25, 2022, at Turan University was held a round table on the topic “Diversification of the economy: a new growth model”. The purpose of the round table is to develop methodological approaches and search for new growth models to diversify the economy of Kazakhstan. Diversification of the economy is a complex and ambiguous process, various socio-economic processes and regions have their own diversification limit, exceeding which can lead to increased costs, lower production efficiency, therefore, determining its optimal level is one of the urgent tasks of the new economy.

The round table discussed the following key areas:

1. Consumer market of the region: competitiveness and problems
2. A new concept for the diversification of the economy of Kazakhstan: focus on the search for and development of new industries and market niches
3. Unleashing the potential of the economy of the Almaty region based on the development of markets for packaging, light industry, IT technologies and competitive niches in the chemical industry
4. Monitoring and improving the efficiency of investment processes in the SME sector
5. State support programs for SMEs: regional aspect.

Well-known Kazakh and international experts, leaders and representatives of business structures, leading professors of domestic and foreign universities, the academic community, as well as young researchers took part in the round table.
