Guest meeting “Unfair competition. Fight against squatting”

The Department of Marketing and Logistics organized a guest meeting on the topic “Unfair competition. The fight against squatting”.

The speaker of the meeting was Lyadzhin Vladimir Alekseevich, Patent attorney of the Republic of Kazakhstan (reg.No. 68), lawyer, director of the company “BUREAU FPGA”.

The meeting took place on April 18, 2023, in the 308 auditorium, at 16.10 h. Students of the specialty “Marketing” and teachers of the University “Turan” took an active part in it.

The guest meeting was organized within the framework of the theme “Brand protection from competitors and squatters” in the discipline “Brand Management”.

During the meeting, elements of unfair competition, types of cybersquatting in Kazakhstan and judicial practice resolving disputes in these matters were discussed. Real cases considering ways to combat cybersquatting in Russia and Kazakhstan were interesting for students.

The meeting was held in an interactive format, a lot of questions were asked by students and teachers.

The organizer of the guest meeting is Asel Akhatkanovna Kairova, M.E., Senior lecturer of the Department of Marketing and Logistics at Turan University.
