Guest lecture by Anton Karmanov for students of the ЕP «Tourism»

On November 24, 2023, a guest lecture by Anton Karmanov, an independent researcher of contemporary art in Central Asia, took place within the framework of the discipline «Local History and Museology» (teacher Fayzullina G.Sh.). The lecture was attended by students of the educational program «Tourism». Local history is not only artifacts and events of the past, it is also «here and now». Students should understand the importance of recording events in the research of their native land. The «cultural layer» of modernity is also a picture of the world formed by the artistic environment. Contemporary art is most often presented in exhibition catalogues and in digital archives, which Anton Karmanov showed to the audience. He noted: «The extraterritoriality of contemporary art. It is more natural for contemporary art authors to work in an international context than within state borders».
