“Mr. and Miss Turan – 2023”. The final of the grand beauty and talent contest has ended

On December 22, the final of the outstanding beauty and talent contest called “Mr. and Miss Turan – 2023” took place at Turan University. This significant event was the result of two months of hard preparation of the participants for a large-scale final.

The contest “Mr. and Miss Turan – 2023” was held under the special theme “Art in the mirror of time”.

The initial stage of the competition was the casting, which took place on November 9-10, 2023, at which 24 promising participants were strictly selected. Subsequently, the participants underwent a series of physical and creative challenges, including rock climbing and team building in order to strengthen team spirit. On November 30, the second stage took place, after which 8 participants completed their journey in the project.

In addition, as part of the project, an informational edition of a reality show was presented on the student Turan Life channel on the YouTube platform, which described in detail the path and achievements of each participant.

To evaluate the beauty and talent of the girls and boys, 5 rounds of the competition were held: fashion show – greeting, choreography, homework, fashion show – cyber punk, fashion show – designer exit.

In between the exits of the contestants, the student organizations Turan’s Trumps, Shisai and MusLab performed.

At the 1st stage of the competition, the finalists were introduced to the guests and demonstrated their skills in the fashion show, after which the contestants immediately moved on to the 2nd stage of the competition – a choreography show.

The 3rd stage of the show “Mr. and Miss Turan”, staged moments from films on the theme “Art in the mirror of Time”, presented to the audience the participants’ ability to show acting skills, creativity, dancing and organizational skills.

At the next stage, the finalists had to present cyber punk-style costumes. The costume designs were developed by the founder of the Blackhorse leather goods brand.

The climax of the evening was approaching. After four main rounds of the competition, 16 beautiful boys and girls took to the stage in elegant outfits from the designer of the fashion house Aida KaumeNOVA for the final fashion show – designer exit.

The jury of the contest “Mr. and Miss Turan – 2023” included rector of the University “Turan” Alshanov Rahman Alshanovich; Vice–rector for social and educational activities Gerasimova Natalia Sergeevna; director of DMiPK Nurtayeva Dana Kaldybaevna; chairman of the beauty and talent contest “Miss Almaty” Seitov Sovetov Sautovich; Miss Kazakhstan – 2023 Sabina Idrisova; Miss Almaty – 2023 Natalia Petri; founder of the fashion house Aida KaumeNOVA Aida Kaumenova; executive director of the city creative, intellectual beauty contest “Queen University” Aizhan Mondybai; Maryam Molotova, Head of Marketing Communications, Mary Kay Kazakhstan; Farida Malik, founder of FM models; Malika Habibi, star makeup artist, teacher and founder of the make-up school; Dinara Sultanova, founder and designer of the handmade leather goods brand BLACKHORSE; Maria Ukhanova, head of the Balance and Grace studio; Mayra Tuleubekova, PR Director of ECO SPA.

The jury evaluated the participants according to various criteria.

The winners of the competition were:

1. Miss Turan – 2023 – Sanatova Aidana, OP “Journalism” 3rd year;
2. Mr. Turan – 2023 – Serikkan Rasul, OP “Information Systems” 1st year;
3. Vice Miss Turan – 2023 – Katshybek Aisu, OP “Public Relations” 3rd year;
4. Vice-Mr. Turan – 2023 – Muratov Miras, OP “Information Systems” 1st year.

The winners became holders of a nominal scholarship of the rector of Turan University for the current academic year.
